The Surreal Existence

Let's recap the last two weeks for everyone keeping score at home:
  • I've started the new job. Nothing too exciting, but the staff is uber-cool. I've been lucky that way.

  • I might get into grad school yet. It would be in Theatre instead of Pop Culture... I wasn't planning on getting two theatre degrees from the same place, but it'd be fun.

  • The 40K campaign marches on, and my painting is constant. In addition, I've finally got all the pieces to make two new armies. Huzzah!

  • I've run my first Delta Green scenario since last year. Whew. Felt really good. Still got it, methinks.

What's even more surreal is a certain e-mail I received. Remember my little story on The Life and Times of Fortunato Plethora? Well, Signor Plethora e-mailed me last week. Congratulated me, then turned some impressive wordplay.

Seriously folks... you do not know 'surreal' until you receive and e-mail from a pseudonym.

Finally, not to bring this post to a depressing halt, but I may have been informed that I've lost a good friend to Christian aesceticism. We remember him as a generous and lively man who loved life and people... Now, he's "praying for us."
..........that statement, coming from that man, is the singularly most depressing thing I've ever heard. I cannot begin to describe the heaviness in my heart in hearing it from him. For the first time since my grandfather's funeral, I have the overwhelming urge to weep.........

But we'll save that for the next post. I bet y'all are looking forward to that.
