"We hit the ground running...

...running on empty."

OK, perhaps using the opening line from Alkaline Trio's "Warbrain" is a slight exaggeration, but I did get a degree in Theatre. And I did go to my first grad-level class on an empty stomach...

Even though the classes began today, I spent the last week going through intro meetings. It was a strange and fun sensation to see the familiar faces after a year away. Not only that, but the other new MA's are a cool group. You know it's gonna be a good year when the first group conversation has endless Eddie Izzard, Family Guy, and LotR references. Huttah!

All that is left is to shock all the musical theatre purists when my copy of "The Shoggoth on the Roof" comes in...

The Long, Strange Journey

...and that was just getting into grad school.

Yup, I'll be getting my MA in Theatre. I register for classes Monday, then start the Monday after that. (Mr. J. prodeeds to do a happy dance). Funny thing: I was actually accepted back in early June. I never got the letter because it was addressed improperly.

I celebrated by re-opening my campus e-mail account. Nothing like spending a Friday night listening to the Hives and deleting 3000 messages.

"Stories pushed aside in march to war"

Sometimes I wonder why I dropped my Journalism major. Then I come across something like this, and I think, "oh, right."

Damn.

Just caught the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs video, "Y Control."

That was one of the most disturbing things I have seen this past year.

I love it.
